How to Store Eggs: 5 Ways to Keep Them Fresh
Storing eggs correctly protects both their taste and food safety. Here is what to watch out for.

1. Keep them in the fridge
After buying, keep eggs in the refrigerator. Inner shelves, where the temperature is more stable, are better than the door.
2. Avoid sudden temperature changes
Temperature swings of more than 6 °C in a short time affect eggs negatively.
3. Keep them in the pack
The tray protects eggs from odours and knocks, and shows the best-before date.
4. Pointed end down
This keeps the air cell at the top.
5. Don’t wash them
Washing before storage damages the shell’s natural protective layer.
